2012 not shaping up to be the year I thought

If your like me, you're always looking ahead to the future when it comes to videogames. New releases, new content, anything new you can get your hands on. As we approach the summer drought, most gamers are looking to the fall to start planning their gaming fixes. As we all know last year had an epic list of releases (and surprisingly a lot of 3's) such as Gears of war 3, Uncharted 3, Portal 2, Skyrim, Dead Space 2, Saints Row the Third. The list goes on and on. After that massive year I thought there was no way this year could compete, until I started looking at the fall release schedule again. A lot of big hitters looked to be on the horizon. Halo 4, Assassins Creed 3, Resident Evil 6, Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, Aliens: Colonial Marine. Although last year was great, this year looked even better, until the delays started to happen. The last three games from the list I brought up have all been delayed until 2013, making this fall line up a little less shiny. There are still some great games coming out and we have not even seen what there is to show at E3. Add that to the great games that have already come out this year Diablo 3, Max Payne 3 (keeping with the 3 motif), Darkness 2, Sydicate, and a few others. 2012 will be a good year. At the very least we have Borderlands 2 coming in September, and I pray the BattleBlock Theater (A game I have praised before) gets a release date.

  1. I find it sad how many of those games are sequels.

    1. It really is. There are some new ip's on the way, but its hard to tell how good they are this far out. Dishonnored looks good but Bethesda proved last year that unless their studio created it, its not a proven hit. The Last of Us looks incredible as well and hopefully that hits this year.
